Co-Owners, President & Vice-President
Martin was born and raised the small agricultural town of Eloy, Arizona, where he grew up, attended school, participated in sports, and worked various agricultural jobs.
He graduated and chose to serve his country by joining the Army, where he spent time overseas stationed both domestically and in South Korea, where he was a Crew Chief on UH1-H Hueys and AH-1 Cobras.
After his return and discharge from the Army, Martin spent some time in various arenas in aviation maintenance, as an overhaul technician, Director of Maintenance, for companies such as Papillion Helicopters and Air Services International.
Martin felt that he found his niche’ in aircraft maintenance in helicopter drivetrain overhauls, so in 1990, Heliponents, Inc. was created. It was started as an FAA Certified Repair Station XHCR780K, and in 1992 Heliponents became a Bell Helicopter Customer Service Facility. Heliponents has been providing component overhauls and helicopter support to the rotary wing industry for three decades.
With the desire to provide that “one stop shop,” Heliponents added an in-ground Jet A fuel station in early 2009. Heliponents continues to strive for excellence and is dedicated exclusively to providing its customers with the finest services available.
Martin is still involved with Heliponents, Inc. daily, but he is making time to enjoy his Granddaughter, Harley Mae and Grandson, Hoss, as well as spending time golfing with his wife Mitzi.
Chad comes from the northeast corner of North Dakota, which is the highly agricultural area known as the Red River Valley. He lived on a dairy farm until he was 9 and then moved to the “big city” of St. Thomas (population of approx. 350 at the time), where he also attended school. Graduated in 1989 with 9 classmates. Chad started dating his would-be wife, Brenda, that summer.
After graduation, he went to work for a local crop duster, Blair’s Flying Service, which sparked his love and involvement in aviation maintenance and where he continued to work with for the next 6 summers. He attended Thief River Falls Technical College where he obtained his Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certification. Chad then decided to enroll at the University of North Dakota, Center for Aerospace Sciences and eventually obtained his Bachelor of Science in Airway Science. During his time at UND, he worked for the flight school maintenance department, and while he was there acquired his Inspection Authorization (IA) in 1994.
Around Christmas 1997, Chad and his wife Brenda made the decision to move to Arizona, going from the extreme low end of a thermometer to the extreme high end.
Chad went to work as an Inspector/Mechanic for Cutter Aviation during the day and maintained the satellite flight school aircraft for the University of North Dakota at night, with Brenda’s assistance. Chad then took a job as a technician for Native American Air Ambulance and in very short order took over as Director of Maintenance for over 6 years, until it the company was purchased by Omniflight Helicopters.
Heliponents was lucky enough to add Chad to the team as General Manager in August 2006. With that addition, Heliponents continued its growth in aviation maintenance services with tapping into Chad’s knowledge and experience with fixed wing aircraft.
In November 2014, Chad partnered with Martin Doss as a co-owner and became the Vice-President of Heliponents, where he has been ever since!
